In July 2021, Baden-Baden was declared a cultural heritage of mankind by the UNESCO together with eleven other important European spa towns of the 19th century as a testimony to the European spa culture.
The cosmopolitan city of Baden-Baden in the northern Black Forest is embedded in a green landscape at the beginning of the famous "Schwarzwaldhochstrasse" on the edge of the Rhine plain with direct connection to the Alsace (France) or further to Switzerland.
